3- while praise was laid to French families that sheltered Jews from the Nazis, the Tunisian similar experience was not referred to. And lastly, the narrator says that these French families have taken their place among the ” righteous among the nations” but stops short of saying that this is a form of an Israeli honorary title, yet narrow minded since it is given by the Israeli official establishment  to the ”Gentiles” who aided or rescued Jews, which made them “exclusively” righteous among all the people of all nations.

A millennium ago the Middle East was not an economic laggard. By the 18th century

it was exhibiting clear signs of economic backwardness. The reason is that certain

components of the region’s legal infrastructure stagnated during a long period when

their Western counterparts were giving way to the modern economy. Among the

institutions that generated evolutionary bottlenecks are the Islamic law of inheritance

(which inhibited capital accumulation), the absence in Islamic law of the concept of a

corporation (which kept civil society weak), and the waqf (which locked vast

resources into unproductive organizations for the delivery of social services). All of

these obstacles to economic development were largely overcome through radical

reforms initiated in the nineteenth century. Nevertheless, traditional Islamic law

remains a factor in the Middle East’s ongoing economic disappointments. The

weaknesses of the region’s private economic sectors and its deficiencies of human

capital are among the lasting consequences of traditional Islamic law.

قفا نبكِ من ذكرى حبيبٍ ومنزلِ              على طَلـَلٍ في العيدروسِ مُبهدلِ
ذكرتُ به القهوى مساء تضمنا                   على ضوءِ إتريكٍ  قديمٍ مُزغللِ
جلوساً بها صحبي على حسابهم               وقد بدت الشيشاتُ بالنارِ تصطـَلي
يروح  “أبو سته” ويأتي  بداله                       وكلُّ  مساءٍ  حالنا  لم  يُبدلِ
ويوم دخلتُ البيتَ أقصدُ نومةَ                  على طرفِ روشانٍ شاميٍ مُظللِ

أضفنا اليه لاعبين أجانباً                فكان عمىً، من بعد قصد التكحّلِ
زمان تولى والحياة بسيطةُ             وكل نفوس الناس بالخير تنجلي
نحبك ياجدةَ رخاءً وشدةً               وإن تطلبي الأرواح نُسرع ونبذلِ

Some actually did criticize the Saudi (poet/ novelist) also minister of labor Ghazi Al Qusaibi. Yet not as harsh as this piece of a column for a Saudi journalist.  The short article if read normally ( right to left up to down) is in commemoration of the great achievements of the Minister. But if you read it from bottom to to top, it’s the harshest criticism I have ever seen in published Saudi journalism.

Close to Time Machine ? the double slit Quantum experiment.

The world of quantum physics takes us to puzzling frontiers. Ive read about those issues earlier but with the help of new technologies these issues are now comprehensibly presentable and should be a nice tease to every intellectual mind.

Interesting breakthrough in Physics that took us closer to manipulating  time.  The true time machine is in progress.

Also the paradox of the measurement problem. or the double slit experiment.
